Here at Woodley Sports, we have fantastic facilities for Crown Green and Short Mat bowling, but our members don’t just limit themselves to these two disciplines, we also have a growing number who regularly play “Long Mat” AKA “Indoor Flat Green” at the nearby Etherow Indoor Bowling Centre. One group of these enthusiastic bowlers, captained by our club Chair Person, Gail Knowles, had a fantastic 2023/24 season and were named champions of the Thursday Long Mat league.
Whilst the Crown Green season is now in full swing, and Long Mat and Short Mat bowling continues at Etherow IBC at a reduced level during the summer months, we know our teams will be back to regular long mat bowling in Winter and we’ll be sure make space more more of their trophies! Well done team Woodley and all our members who had great success during the 2023/24 long mat season.
